We developed and mapped local supply chains, involving almost 50 farm assured primary and secondary food producers and wholesalers, with the capacity to service all 250 schools in the county. We determined the commercial impact of local food procurement in the context of the councils 5 year financial plan.

Working in conjunction with the PSFPI co-ordinator we delivered practical supplier workshops to achieve appropriate levels of supplier accreditation.

This resulted in contracts being awarded by the County Council in partnership with ESPO, in fresh vegetables to local wholesalers and as a result, benefited many regional primary producers of vegetables further down the food chain.
